• building background knowledge on a topic- student learn best when they take in information  via multiple modalities such as reading,drawing,listening to the teacher's explanations and viewing visual media.
• Using visuals is the key for those acquiring a new language, such as the ELLs(English Language Learners) in schools.

Using Images In Teaching( Online and otherwise)

• Teachers can display materials for students in face-to-face classroom settings.e.g. holding up illustrations from a book or passing books, prints,maps or other hardcopy images around classroom
• Using traditional overheard projectors to display images.
